I know I'm going to get a lot of thumbs down for this, but I'm far from hating Kyuubey.

He wasn't just out to mess up young girls' lives. If anything, his motive was to help the universe - slow down entropy, and new cultures and planets can form over billions of years.

Did Madoka have a better solution? Yes, but that doesn't make him a "bad guy"; people just want a "bad guy" to hate. It is possible to have a good antagonist who's not "just evil." That's actually what I liked about PMMM.

@TeacupGrenade I respect your opinion, but I disagree.

Kyubey is similar to the anti-spiral beings from TTGL: let's take away some species fun to help the universe. If the universe ends, it sucks, but no one suffers. Anyone would rather die than suffer a lot. Kyubey is trying to make the universe last longer by taking away people's fun and happiness.

People consider him evil because, like Madoka says, he is the enemy of humanity. Who would be ready to suffer and die for the universe?

Some people would go through all that suffering if they have the will to live given the right reasons. I'm not saying you're wrong, but you haven't provided alot of valid justification for your claims.

I thought this anime was going to be something like Sailor Moon, boy was I sure wrong. So many sad parts. The only character I sympathized with was Akemi.

@TeacupGrenade Not going to lie, I'm not a huge fan of Kyuubey. While he wasn't really "evil" I have to admit I didn't care for his personality. And evil or not when he made his little speech about comparing people to cattle. Yeah, that didn't earn him any points...even if what he said was right.

I'll just put my two cents into this debate over Kyuubey, since I wouldn't want to call it an argument. Everyone has their opinions and I respect them for that. I find him to be both good and evil, a balance of both. I'm sure he never meant to hurt the girls, just to save the universe. You know, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few". Then again, I do find it to be a tad mean when he claims he doesn't know/care of our human emotions and how they work, and blindly disregards them.
