The beat starts at 0:25. I made a remake of Grand Puba "I Like It" beat with Korg Electribe ES-1. All samples were taken from vinyl records.

Impeach The President drum (The original "I Like It" beat does not use the Impeach drum... I could not figure out which drum samples were used.)

Besides, some people love to figure out what their favourite producers did with various songs. I guess reproducing is a great way to learn gear and equipment, before you go on making your own shit.
