Moeed Pirzada discusses with Prof. Zafar Jaspal, Dr. Ahmer Bilal Sufi, Moeed Yousuf, Declan Welsh and Nick Schriffin (on call from Kabul) that there are clear indications from Washington that it now wants to downplay and de-escalate its defence's stances with Pakistan. There also appears to be an attempt to shift the blame to outgoing Adm. Mike Mullen for overstating his case in the region. Questions arise how could two allies that have been locked together in the same struggle for the last two years, the tension between them could skyrocket so quickly that they appear to be opponents standing in the same ring facing each other and more importantly what have they learnt.
