I saw a cool tutorial on tutvid and gave it a shot.

I'm kind of satirising how people who use iPods and apple products brag about being indie and having a uniqueness while following Steve Jobs's instructions blindly

Made in the gimp, including taking the photo it took about 1hr to complete

how did you do cut that shadowy guy ?i tried to used the marquee tool..but its not working..i still have the whole picture when i copy and paste it..

@kalasagnijuan I'm not entirely sure since its a while since I made this image but I either used a layer mask and then just painted him out or used the path tool to cut him out. I did it by hand because the image I used didn't have any sort of decent contrast to use for cutting out.

I never really use the auto-select tools. Not a big fan of them. I like the control of cutting out by hand though it takes quite a bit longer.

Did you intend for the sides to be so blurry? They look blurry to me :P

@XyzKiller2 Not really sure what you mean? Like in the video or in the full version on dA? Either way it's not meant to be blurry but it was just a quick sketch and all the assets are from a quick Google search so they're not the highest resolution.

@rorkimaru Well on both, the brushes look a little blurry to me, but it may just be how you saw fit, but yeah, the picture itself is great.
