  • Once Bernake starts QE3 I will put the current house up for sale. I'm thinking that he will create a small temporary bubble in real estate, which should help sell the house, before the economy then regresses like after the other QEs.

  • @MrSilverSurfing good move!!

  • @MrSilverSurfing LOL!!

  • @ShalomHouseHome Wives are a true blessing from God, but they seem to get caught up in the world a bit too much for my liking. lol. No offense to the ladies or their wardrobes. lol

  • @MrSilverSurfing Pleasing our wives is the best we can do, and makes for a very peaceful home :) I wish you all the best as you move forward on your plans. Please keep me posted, if you can on how things go.

  • @ShalomHouseHome I'm going to sell my house which should give me a descent down payment for building the house. The house is going to be 1400sf, but very well insulated. I will probably do a wood burning stove. I want to make sure the house is very efficient and low maintenance, so the costs will be a bit more up front. I'm thinking 50K loan wont be too bad. If I sell the 6 acres I would probably only need ot borrow 30k. I wanted a smaller house, but the wife wasn't onboard. lol

  • @MrSilverSurfing Sorry to hear about your water dilema. I hope the city water will work out for you, and I hope it won't be too expensive for you if you have crops/gardens. Is there a way to use anything on your property that can throw off some extra income to help keep the loan amount down - 50K is a lot of money, wow. Thought about bartering skills for well conversion costs?

  • One area that I have been torn on is how to deal with water. Wells are expensive, so I'm thinking I will use city water until I have the cash to convert to well. I would love to be able to own the homestead/house outright, but it could be a little tough. I may have to take out a loan for 50K or so, which I'm not happy about.

  • @KarlBrkr Hey Karl, I put the video link to the camp in this video at about the 1 minute mark.

  • Please post a link to that site for the homestead cam and how to. Thanks.
