UPDATE: 2011: Rebuilt and looks great, Lakeside lives again, look out for many new events now happening, its worth a look.

2008:Lakeside was established in 1961 and was used as Queensland's premier race track, abandoned and in disrepair it is crumbling; however thanks to some dedicated people it could be reborn. http://www.lakesideraceway.com/

i would forshore rebuild this track i lastr went there when i was like 4 it was the 1993 or 4 v8 supercars and dick johnson won and dont remember much and id like to race there for the tasco sallon car series

Great vid, I use to race motorcycles here about 8 years ago , I have often popped in to have a look and it brings back many fond memories.I hope to one day race here again at some level, I hear they are resurfacing the track as we speak.

Up until I moved to WA, I was part of the group that tried to save Lakeside, the LMRE. It's good to see that they are starting to do it up again, and hopefully I can go have a look at it when I go back on holidays. But anyway, great video. As run down as the track is today, it is still one of the best circuits in Australia. Loved the pictures.
