Elisa Chan Playing the Pipa

I'm playing the piece "Moa Li Hua" (Jasmine Flower) on the pipa, a traditional Chinese instrument. I think this was the 3rd lesson I had...EVER at the pipa, so sorry for my out of tune notes.

hello,

i buying a pipa soon and i was wondering what type of finger picks you use here? They look like fake nails with tape around them, and they sure don't look like guitar finger picks to me. Great playing by the way, especially since it's only your third lesson!!

@korvidkrow96 Thank you for your interest and kind words! Indeed, these are not guitar picks =P They are actually made from faux tortoise shells. Here's a site that I think would help. Good luck!

@rv6ejguy Thank you!! Sorry for the late response. It was so frustrating that Youtube kept blocking me from commenting on my videos. Anyways, don't be so harsh on yourself! I played the violin and viola for many years before learning the pipa. Thus, the vibrato and finger technique was much easier for me to pick up. Good luck!

Is the pipa difficult to play? Does it use chords like a western guitar?
