First published in 1907, Walter Rauschenbusch's Christianity and the Social Crisis became one of the most influential religious documents of the 20th century, in inspiring leaders such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Reinhold Niebuhr and Desmond Tutu towards promoting social justice. On the 100th anniversary of the publication of this seminal work, Rauschenbusch's great-grandson has released an updated version that includes new commentary by leading social justice thinkers of our time.
Rev. Paul Rauschenbusch, a pastor and social justice advocate, has been touring the country and has an important perspective on the state of inequality in America and the role of faith in the 2008 Presidential campaign.
If the Mainline churches concetrated their efforts on poverty and race, why are almost all of their churches still over 95% White and overwhelmingly middle/upper middle class? Is this just some new form of paternalism?

the social gosple is an interisting topic for sure, I have not the time to watch the whole presentaion though, I did graze over it in religious studies for a semester about religion and civil rights, very good ideas but sometimes less about the divine figure of Jesus and more about Jesus the teacher as a man.

just because someone reads the bible it doesnt mean they agree everything the 'pastor'preaches. he talk about chicken wings as a social crisis.why dont we turn to the man himself-jesus christ-formely of nazareth,to see what he had say about chicken wings,politic and christianity,three practices that were common in this time:NOTHING.

OH MY DEAR CHRISTIAN FRIENDS!!
Do NOT blind yourselves from the truth!!
Allah says in the Quran;
"DEAF, DUMB AND BLIND, THEY WILL NOT RETURN (TO THE PATH OF TRUTH)."
(AL-QURAN - SURAH BAQARAH 2:18)
The Holy Bible also says:
"......SEEING THEY SEE NOT: AND HEARING THE HEAR NOT, NEITHER DO THEY UNDERSTAND."
(HOLY BIBLE - MATTHEW 13:13)
