This amp is great for a classic thrash scoop sound, and despite it being a valve amp you dont need to crank it up too far to get a great overdrive sound, although i would recommend a distortion pedal.

I have the head verson and it works great with my epi sg for acdc sound. I have 57s in but I'm changing the bridge out For angus young sig pup when I get the cash.
