Crysis Chiaroscuro Test

A short clip of my experimentation with Crysis on a custom map.

The general look of the image was achieved using the various filters within the Time of Day settings in the level editor. A very stylised, high contrast black and white can be achieved by adjusting the lighting, desaturating the image, and adding a film grain effect. With some strange vegetation, fog and a HUD interference effect added, the game begins to look different and creepy... think the look for a good survival horror mod.

(Apologies for the lack of sound, but Crysis won't let my FRAPS near it with a ten foot pole. This video was created using the "capture_frames" console command).

Hey sondreaakre :). The map was made only as a test for the screen effect. All that is in it is what you see here... the diner, the trees, the bridge, the tank. Although I do plan to use the effect for "flashback"-type missions like Abate2008 suggests, in a mod that I have planned.

The quality is beautiful. The frame rate is damn perfect, and the environment is unbelievable. I don't see this going to the 360 or the PS3. This vid may kill the rumors.
