1997. Roppongi, Tokyo, Japan. The bands of Maceo Parker and Gloria Estefan are hanging out at Pickford, a late night club in Roppongi, following their respective gigs at major venues in Tokyo. The club is full of musicians -which is not unusual. The house band, known as "The International Science Band", is composed mostly of American musicians who have taken up residence in Tokyo. The lead singer is dynamic Leon Daniels. Gloria Estefan-backing-vocalist, Lynn Mabry becomes involved upon being excited by Leon Daniels' moving performance. Soon, her bandmate, alto saxophonist Michael Paulo, too, joins in. At one point while this is going on, Maceo Parker can be seen, literally, sweeping the floor clean of thrown confetti with a broom and dustpan in hand. . . (con'd on Part 2)

  • Nice post production video editing, plus great sound quality. Make me even want to cry ... 6:05

  • Wow, early 80's I led a band playing next door at Tennis Club,

wandered back and forth hanging until daybreak, took many top names there

after they'd finish their Budokan or wherever concerts, Michael Jackson's, Madonna's,

Stevie's guys, we all sat in and just killed. Where is drummer Dwayne,

guitarist Johnny Jones, Mike Suzuki moved to Nagoya and vanished. Bassist Derek who liked fire a bit too much, Paul Jackson, Marty Bracey?

    talk to me baby.

  • Yes sir, that was a night to remember forever! Pickford's live house is dead and gone...but this footage shall live on forever!
