Tried watching this cuz it had won awards & was billed as a "thinking man's" action thriller, but stopped it after 45 mins when the main character hadn't uttered a word since the start, & I had FF through 10 min of nothing but him hiking thru the woods. Just bad fight & flight scenes. I would call it a mindless action flick, but there's not even that much action, unless u consider the camera lingering on him for 3 or 4 min while he makes whining noises as he eats ants from an ant hill, "action".

I don't think the comments here are based on a cinematic or artistic point of view at all! The film is great and has a unique and deep cinematic language that rarely we see in other movies.

This movie is about a savage who murders some US soldiers in Afghanistan after we outed the fucking evil taliban. Then he escapes and murders some civilians.

Not sure if it was because I watched this at 4am, but this was FAR from boring. Fuck dialogue, it doesn't always MAKE a movie. Gallo's performance was impressive.
