Hello Alex would you trade gold for palladium?

Palladium today exceeded $700 per ounce. I guess my continued bullishness when it hit $450 was warranted.

@cripster1976 - Deciding to exchange a position in one commodity versus another should be based primarily on their relative upside. If palladium has a potential to increase another 300% and gold 200%, it would seem wise to swap your gold position for palladium. However, we don't know, and palladium is more volatile. Yes, I do believe there will be parity between the two metals eventually (perhaps in less than a decade), but I could be wrong (thought that's really rare).

so when the health bill hit.. is it time to leave the country? that thing will suck american dry.. how long do u think we have left before it will show the real ugly true face 1,2, or 5 year? thanks again

@schboy23 Nah. Health care bill is only one hole in a bucket that's been blasted by a shotgun. I have a multi-part answer to your question that wouldn't fit in this forum. I can think of far better reasons to leave the country than our quarter-assed attempt at health care reform, and I can think of better reasons than "patriotism" to stay.

And an additional thought on the USD going to hell. Americans are taught to thing "Capitalism is Good," and it can be. But it's foolhearty to think something that's good on a local scale is better on a national and global scale. Our economic model of supersizing corporations drives local and regional business under, consolidating labor, thus diluting the job/income level, eliminating middle and upper-middle income jobs and decreasing product selection. It also drives up metal values.

Hello i have been hearing a lot about the dollar will crash soon... what are your thoughts on it.
Thanks again.
schboy23 1 year ago
That depends on how you define "crash" and "soon." The USD has lost over 50% of its value versus the Euro since its introduction, and 70% of its value against precious metals in five years. Our trending toward war, debt, reverse socialism (bailouts), and sacrificing infrastructure and education while expanding our money supply ... how can we possibly keep the USD competitive? Portfolios would be wise to include foreign stocks and currencies. How much is an individual call.
