Another gel test with Nathan from DRT Ammo! This time we're using the 79 grain .223 round. It looks impressive! I'm starting to see how they have been able to get great results on large game with a small bullet. This will be the first bullet we officially test on a hunt. Keep checking back for more videos. You mention you shot a doe and she just dropped but it turns out you shot her in the neck. That means you weren't aiming for the neck, If you're aiming for the kill zone and hitting deer in the neck then I have to question your accuracy since that's 12"+ off target. I don't care what bullet you're shooting if your accuracy is poor you're going to lose game. Practice your shooting or keep animals within a range that matches your skill and stop wounding animals that run off and suffer a slow death

To: mycaddigo, I would highly recommend using the 62gr Nosler Partition in 223 caliber. This bullet will smoke any deer with confidence. Don't chance anything when it comes to proven explosive results that the partition provides. I shot a doe with the partition last year and it just dropped. Robert Mann who writes for NRA mags swears by this bullet...

My son and I lost two deer last year using 55 grain DRT ammo. We cant chance that happening again, we are going back to the Barnes Triple Shock TSX and are also going to be trying out the new Federal Fusions. Two years ago I shot a doe using the 55 gr DRT and she just dropped. But as it turned out it was a neck shot which would have happened with any ammo.

Am anxiously awaiting to see you shoot a deer with the 55 or 79 grain DRT. I cant imagine the DRT dropping them the way the Partition, Fusion or Barnes Triple X (TSX) bullet drops em. Please post when you shoot a deer using the DRT, I want to see this.
