What a cool performance! Tommy and Phil Emmanuel pay tribute to some of their childhood heroes, Hank Marvin and The Shadows, with a medley of their instrumental hits: Apache, Dance On, Frightened City, F.B.I., The Boys, Peace Pipe, Man Of Mystery and Foot Tapper.

Watch Tommy shouting the next song title at Phil all the time ...

Captured at the Fritz-Henßler-Haus in Dortmund/Germany in August 2005 during some kind of warm-up gig one day prior to the 2nd Tommy Emmanuel Guitar Festival in Rietberg.

Australians, don't miss the brothers, when they hit the road in December 2010/January 2011 for their 50th Anniversary Tour, together with TE's old band!

  • Man Tommy is a beast, and Phil is pretty good in his own right too man

  • I've been a Shadows fan since they arrived around 1960, but this medley blew my socks off - still grinning days later

  • @ozzieiniowa I got to see them play "Wonderful Land" and "The Savage" in New York on the 50th Anniversary tour, andthey just blew me away...

  • @gtrDan1963 Remember though, Phil & Tommy were playing Shadows stuff in small country pubs all over Australia when they were only kids under 10, so it's nice to see that 40 something years later, they can still tear off Shadows tunes that'd shame Hank & Bruce.

  • Different Class

  • Thanks for sharing this! It was a joy to watch!

  • Like Tommy Emmanuel wouldn't be enough talent for one family - then there's Phil! I was lucky enough to have front row seats and was blown away. I was also fortunate to hear them play their Olympic presentation which was awesome to me since I had the winning bid on Tommy's original Maton red and white electric which I absolutely treasure.

  • Whoa....Brothers in Arms...Armed Brothers...The Axe Men...I'm so glad Phil didn't kill Tommy when they were growing up. Look how much fun they have....who could watch this and not smile? Someone without a heart I guess. FANTASTIC~*

  • Always fantastic, wish someone would post Phil playing Nessun Dorma this is absolutely outstanding, have searched high & low but can't find it. If anyone has it please share, it's stunning.

  • @fretboardmaster1 Wow!!! You and me both, my friend !

That must have been something special...
