This is a song written by a man who saw people in his life that he loved and knew would be gone before his lifetime. It is no wonder he wrote this song about the gift of life and the precious moments spent wisely- often too lately realized after.

it is poignant and sad i remember as a child the first time he sang this now all these years later his voice aged he still plays that guitar with a great talent and his aging voice makes the song more real.

Not everyone sings with the emotion he puts into it, and he put more even emotion into his playing. I love the voices AWA. (As we age)

"What a load of crap, and this is the only versionfound on Karaoke! No Eddie Arnold. No Charles Aznavout????"

I love the way he plays guitar!!
This is even more poignant being sung by an older man whose voice is going. It is not meant to be sung by a young man with a strong voice.
