Koh Gabriel Kameda and Gerard Schwarz together with the New Japan Phil rehearsing for the premiere of the Violin Concerto by Louis Gruenberg in Tokyo, Japan in 2002.
Jascha Heifetz commissioned the concerto from Gruenberg in 1944. He performed it various times in the US and recorded it in 1945 for RCA Victor. No one else has ever performed the concerto until Koh Gabriel Kameda in 2002.
