A tribute to the brave Hitch. Christopher Eric Hitchens 13 April 1949 -- 15 December 2011.

EDIT: I am saddened by the loss of Christopher Hitchens- a person who defended free thought and encouraged skeptical inquiry. Who courageously faced death, yet continued to write and debate. It's a sad day for the world, his words will live on and he will go down in history as one of the world's greatest intellectuals. The voice of reason will always light the way. You will be missed.- A. Beesley.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this! It is such a source of inspiration.

  • @wnaylor9704 thank you for the kind words, I'm happy you find it a source of inspiration. They really are wise words and will go down in history alongside the other great thinkers.

  • Got it on my ipod, I go for a walk 1-3 times a day and I play this at least once every walk. For good reason.

  • @ForYeensSake That is great to hear, they truly are inspiring words. I am thinking of making more videos after receiving such positive feedback.

  • I watched this video some time ago and was moved a little then. Now it is all the more moving knowing Hitch didn't recover as so many of us would have wished. Having watched the full debate originally, this segment of the speech stood out for me back then, watching an ill Hitch inspire and educate a young audience from his heart, completely unscripted. With the added music, this is now more powerful and touching than any hollywood scene could ever hope to be. Lets never forget Hitch.

  • @tigersforchrist in what way does not accepting as Hitchins says "absolute authority" make me a fool? I'd rather be free than believe something that causes so much terror for so little gain.

If there was a heaven, Christopher would be in it.

  • @tigersforchrist A merciful, forgiving God would not recognise the human imperfection that he is responsible for that means that some people choose not to do so...that of Free Will? I think not...any God worth worshipping would surely forgive such a "sin", especially if he were responsible for it.

  • Only a REAL FOOL would claim there is no God! Man creates awesome skyscrapers, fake hearts, tunnels, vehicles etc.. If we are very imperfect then what more can God create THE UNIVERSE! You must accept Jesus Christ as your Savior to receive eternal rest in heaven! Simple! John 3:16 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him! Repent & accept Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ or HELL?!? Visit cbn. com

  • I can only hope that one day I may be as intelligent and as eloquent as Hitchens was. This unscripted speech is inspirational and moving; and it moves me to say thank Evolution for Christopher Hitchens.

  • I used to love coming onto Youtube and finding a new Hitchens interview or debate. Really miss the guy. Way more than I thought I would. Great video man.

  • I always come back to this video because I find it very moving and powerful. thank you for sharing this with us

  • Wonderful video! Thanks so much for creating and sharing it! With respect, I would add to his last sentence: "Take the risk of thinking for yourself AND with others....!" Let's enter into dialogue and discover meaning together.

  • DeVotchka and Hitch are the perfect combination

  • An excellent tribute to a very well learned free thinking individual, the voice of reason beyond

doubt. let us all take note of his advice and prosper accordingly.
