  • Rickenbacker all the way

  • CORRECTION... Geddy used his '72 Jazz on this track. I agree that it does sound like a Ric, but, using the right gear like I do with my Geddy Jazz, I can get that same Ric-sound. He also used the Jazz on Tom Sawyer, YYZ, and Vital signs from the Moving Pictures album. He used a Ric on the rest of the tracks.

  • I only have to learn 1 more minute of the song-3 then hopefully I'll do a cover :D

  • heavy compression...like 5:1 and 10ms attack, 250ms release...holy fuck

  • @CmathTV

right, doesn't sound like a fender jazz bass, the crunchy tone is too clean and well controlled, it doesn't "blat" on the low notes like fender basses often do - nice sound - wonder why Lee switched to Fender -

  • @CmathTV yup this is a ricky, very distinctive tone eh?

  • @GVike More than likely.

  • you can hear his mistakes in the solo and where he "punched" in to try to fix it...way cool.

  • The bass is WAY too under-appreciated

  • Do I hear Entwistle influence in his sound and playing?
