The historic Norwich City Hall hosted Governor Dannel Malloy's 5th in a series of 17 planned town hall meetings to discuss his proposed 2012-2013 state budget. Nearly 150 people packed into the 3rd floor John J. Ryan Council Chambers to have a chance to speak face to face with the new governor.
Fire marshalls helped relocate an overflow crowd to another room across the hall so they might view the proceedings on closed circuit tv. The feed to the alternate viewing room was interrupted and irate citizens confronted policemen on the job. All was handled professionally, however.
Many people were discouraged by the location of the meeting and by the limited seating. Various groups of protesters held rallies outdoors on City Hall grounds preceeding the Governor's meeting.
Thanks so much for this series of videos. I very much appreciate all you do for those of us who can't be there.
The woman in red, who's at the microphone, makes some really interesting (and biased!) faces! lol
