Some excerpts from the amazing 5 part series "Jellies & Other Ocean Drifters", a 35-minute program produced by Sea Studios and The Monterey Bay Aquarium, in collaboration with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. This series features breathtaking images of never-before-seen jellyfish and other deep ocean creatures: predatory comb jellies, web-weaving larvaceans, colonial salps and 30-foot long siphonophores.
These strange creatures drift through a habitat so alien to us we can only venture into it for brief periods to explore. Lyrical music sweeps us along on their journey, echoing the pulsing, flowing dances of these delicate drifters. It's an in-depth look into a seldom-seen world.
