@TheTexn ...Let nature take its course...that people dying is part of nature, but nature is all about death and re-growth...
and I thought it was really interesting how there are trees growing through graves
I liked that, because there was no artificial pruning of things and making everything look perfect...
Some like it some do not ...

Outstanding images and music. Congratulations for the result ;O)

Even through Death and Decay there is and always has been a will to live on in some way....whether through our memories or the loving memorials dedicated to us marking our time in this world...but sadly, even they are not immune to the decay and being forgotten that eventually befalls us all....
-
I am sure your Friend will be more than pleased with His Memorial film- Do go back and make more.I love old cemeteries, but Highgate is the ''best'' I,ve seen so far.French cemeteries are quite different-the ''flaming torch held down'' in cast iron looked a French image-but probably fashions crossed the Channel.!

John Atchler was the person in the Horse With Bowed Head tomb at the beginning and end of this film-not Julius Beer-Jst googled-John Atcheler was Horse slaughterer to Queen Victoria, and Julius Beer has the huge tomb in the Lebanese Circle..It is a wonderful place, Unfortunately the ''Romantic'' Side of the cemetery is closed to new burials...I think all romantic people would like to be buried here, with Nature!

The idea (when restoration of the cemetery commenced some 26 years back), was to reveal some aspects of the original architecture/arrangement of graves and to develop some areas as nature now intended. It's a question of taste as you correctly observe.

@montyite ..I suppose that you meant the entrance building (West Cemetery)
No offices, its a chapel...

@joshje777 What's inside the main building? There's a window on the second floor. Are these offices? Thanks in advance.
Just so peaceful and lovely to see Highgate again-was last there in the 1980's-glad to see the {Julius Beer?} tomb restored-[at the end, the tomb with the horse looking downward-Well done-very evocative.
