I love how Petra kept their 80's sound throughout the 90's and early 00's. Why couldn't more bands do this. Just because the times changed doesn't mean you have to change. I love Petra they are awesome men of God who rocked their signature sound for many years. It's too bad the original lead singer left, but I still love John's sound as well.

i agree to a certain point.. ive never heard of this band.. but in order to survive in this business you sorta do have to change with the times.. example.. like metallica,aerosmith, sevendust and many others. it sorta does sux but it doesnt mean that there music sux.. just my opinion

Petra had 3 lead vocals in its history. I believe Gregg Volz was the lead singer before John in 1982 and 1983. I would love to see videos posted from those years. However, I do like John, but Gregg had a much higher ranged voice. Like the lead vocal for the 1980s group "Survivor" There favorite song of mine and video is "Eye of the Tiger". Gregg Volz had a voice like this. I think in the 1970s, with Head East, John's voice was higher ranged.

FWIW, the car in this vid is an 1969 AMC Javelin (SST?)...this musical video would

be as good (if not better) with a 1972 AMC AMX,Javelin SST 'cameo'...
