THE LION KING— CENTRAL ISLIP HIGH SCHOOL SHOW CHOIR

Here is the Central Islip High School Show Choir performing THE LION KING medley at the first ever Have a Heart & Make a Joyful Noise fundraising concert. The benefit on this date raised $4500 for the children at Camp Adventure (administered by the American Cancer Society). John Anthony, Director — Jeanine Ecklund, Choreographer. This medley is arranged by Mark Brymer.

The Show Choir performed this Disney approved selection at the Festival Disney competition in 2005, at the Walt Disney World Resort and received the Festival Disney Gold Award for scoring higher than any other group at the competition!

How did you guys do your set? Like what was it made of and light set up it looks very sophisticated! :)

The set is a blank stage with a 20x40 backdrop (which we rented). The lighting is the basic high school lighting with the addition of "intelligent lighting," which we hired for the event.

Well, considering we're in Central Islip- if WE can "afford it"....anyone can! It's just a matter of getting it done.

Our elementary school is going to try one number, Circle of Life. (For Black History Month) I hope we can get enough parents, volunteers, costume designers, carpenters, fathers, and whoever to help with make up, costumes, and backdrop. I was going to make just a big sun, like the Lion King actors did for the Tony Awards.

Wow this is amazing, we did this for Concert Choir my senior year...all I can say is when it comes to the choreography...YOU ROCK!!!

Waynesboro High School's choreography for stuff like this always suck. We always do moves that you would see in Elementary concerts...it's quite pathetic.

It's really cool to see this actually be preformed by a higher class than what we're doing it at. =) It's also really cool to listen for the alto part, when, that's what I sing. Overall, I think it sounds really good. I can't wait until we get to do it. =D
