this is my take on a budget cook set for camping and hiking. it costs nothing to make except ones own time. i hope it inspires others to make low cost things and not be drawn into purchased gadgetry.
I hope to pull away from reviews and get out in the area around where i live.

and if i do a review of some piece of equipment it will be in the setting it is intended for rather than my little work shop.

  • Answer = A trip to casualty, five stitches and treatment for a third degree burn.

  • GREAT! but 1 thing , I'm pretty sure baked bean cans and similiar have like an inner coating of stuff to keep acidic contents from eating the can.

Other cans have a polished gold coating on the inside , doesnt oxidide and ruin food in the fridge ?

Might work better /more healthy - what do you think ?

  • Very clever little stove! I used to live on a sailboat and had a stove fueled by denatured alcohol (I'm in the US). Do you use batting inside the cooker part, or just light the alcohol directly?

    Cheers, exzeluke

  • Your homemade stove is as good as the ones they sell, but for the purposes of easy clean up, nothing beats a titanium snow peak cookset. Great video though

  • nice one for posting that,,

  • same thing good video
