The greatest ever. No ego, no gimics, no carefully-crafted radio-friendly singles. Just real talent delivered 200% honest for the fans.

I have been very lucky to watch Rory 2 times during a tour. The energy this guy has and the simple men he is/was impressed me a lot.I remember him as a devil on his guitar but sounds like angels.I am proud that I can play some of his songs with my band and to keep the spirit of Rory going.God bless !

Most critics gave Rory raving reviews don't really know why everyone is up in arms, yu can tell if yu no anything about the liver that he is in trouble in this video this ia about the time he started slowin down due to health, the body starts to bloat because the liver isn't functioning proper iv'e had a few freinds that passed on the same way, terrible way to go, but he left a legacy none could follow great bluesman

@SlumminAngel. Music critics are like unucks in a hareem. They know how its done, coz the've seen it done every night, BUT THEY CAN'T DO IT THEMSELVES.

@92bluestrat I saw SRV 2nd row center at Clowes hall in Indy. Absolutely shreds a guitar, but the ego of that cat was over the top. Nobody else in the band got so much as an 8 bar lead, and he had great players with him. It was like he spent the entire show trying to impress. Didnt look to me like they were having fun. Rory and Gerry always had fun. Saw him at DePaul in Greensburg, opened for Kansas, blew the house down, and Kansas never followed, we had left anyway, heard later.

@SlumminAngel Critics dont know shit. Thats like going to a steak joint and ordering seafood. Rory had way too much soul and integrety to be liked by critics. They want to believe in lyrics being devinely inspired or some such shit.I think it makes them feel important to have talked to some "rock god." Watch interviews with Rory, he makes the interviewer feel comfortable, they want that "I interviewed Clapton" story to impress cohorts. I would say friends, but they have none.
Great comment, agree absolutely. It always surprised me when critics said he wasn't a great songwriter. Made me realise that a critic is just some guy mouthing off and getting paid for it, doesn't mean they know what they're talking about.

The energy here is unbelievable. No gimicks, no fashion, just real good players getting into a real good song. R.I.P. RORY (through Youtube we can still see and enjoy our heroes, thankyou.)
