Muslims regard as prophets of Islam those non-divine humans chosen by Allah as prophets. Each prophet brought the same basic ideas of Islam, including belief in a single God and the avoidance of idolatry and sin. Each came to preach Islam and told of the coming of the final law-bearing prophet and messenger of God: Muhammad.

Each prophet directed a message to a different group and each prophet taught minor variations in sharia (or the practice of religion) to a different target-audience. These variations constitute applications of Islam: mainstream Muslims do not consider them discrete versions of Islam.

Islamic tradition holds that God sent messengers to every nation. Muslims believe that God sent only Muhammad to convey the divine message to the whole world, whereas he sent other messengers (rasuls) to convey their messages to a specific group of people or to an individual nation.

Unlike Judaism and Christianity, Islam distinguishes between a direct messenger of God (rasul) and a prophet (nabi). Both function as divinely inspired recipients of God's revelation. However, in addition, rasuls receive a divine message or revelation for a community in book form. Thus the rasul category forms a subset of the nabi category.

Muslims regard Adam as the first prophet and Muhammad as the last prophet; hence Muhammad's title Seal of the Prophets. Islam regards Jesus as a rasul (and sometimes as a nabi) because he received wahi (revelation) from God, through which God revealed the Injil (Gospel) to him. Muslims believe that God has sent over 124,000 prophets all over the world, as mentioned in the Sahih Hadith.

Five of them (sometimes known as Ulul Azmi or the Imams - literally: "leaders" - of the Rasuls) receive the highest reverence for their perseverance and unusually strong commitment to God in the face of great suffering, namely: Nuh (Noah), Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), Isa (Jesus), Muhammad.

  • This is because of Mohammad's selfish thinking to become the prophet and also of muslims wishful thinking to fake their religion as supreme.Islam is one of the most filthiest, fake, violent, death cult u will ever find. All those who say islam is peace r just talking shit.Mohammad was a criminal.if he lived today he wud b in jail or given death sentence.

  • Ofcourse this life is a puzzle....

Or did God made us just for no reason? To live, eat drink, shit and eventually die?

NO, there is a meaning behind life...

You have to search it for yourself if you want the truth!

Thank God, I found it in the Qu'ran.

  • @BeckaMorena Actually that is not what Islam teaches. Islam teaches us to love one another and the to love all the creatures on this Earth. The Qu'ran even contains pieces that speak of science. It's not a waste. But people unfortunately mix their culture with the religion and confuse the writings. That is the unfortunate waste. If people take it in it it's purity you would be surprised. I can understand why you find it difficult to believe in God, but do not insult please.

  • But there really about 124,000 prophets and Allah has sent a prophet to each nation and the last prophet, Prophet Muhammad was sent to the whole mankind.

  • Good luck counting 124,000 prophets and putting them all in one book.

  • Delusion. It's not until you are truly honest with yourself, how all of this makes absolutely no sense. It's ridiculous to think that this perfect god would make us in his image and then not expect us to use our critical thinking. Even when I believed, I couldn't understand many devout people, so disconnected from nature. Now I know why, because religions like this teach such hatred. That we are above all on this wretched earth and not a PART of something beautiful and wonderful. What a waste.

  • @doomheart2001 Then tell me if "Ever Knee shall bend n every head shall bow" then who Jesus was praying "bowing n prostrating" to? Who was he was worshiping? Was Jesus god or the "son of god?! By saying "son" Are you claiming God sired/begot Jesus a child from Mary?!God is not begotten nor does He have any need to beget! God is the Creator God created Jesus miraculously without a male intervention! God is the self subsisting, self Existing, Eternal(can not die), the Formless, Unseen, Unique one!
