Real ghost footage? Real apparition? Can anyone help with this? Smokey-Dover.

This has confused a lot of people!

A friend of mine recently found a camera whilst filming footage of an old Napoloeonic Bastion, near Dover Castle in Kent, England, which has stood for hundreds of years.

He is a keen history hobbyist, and was trying out his new cam. He doesn't have much experieince with these things, is in his 50's, and has written about local history for many years.

Whilst up in an old place named 'Smokey' by the locals, he found a very new looking camera. He brought it back home, and managed to figure out how to check footage on it! The footage was similar to what he was taking, which didn't suprise him, as he knows that many historians go up there. But as he neared the end, he found the video that you have seen. He then contacted me, who knows a tiny bit about cameras etc.

The most eerie part for me was the fact that the camera was found in the exact place the footage stopped.

Some facts and ideas to consider/question:

*The footage was taken three days before my friend found the camera, according to the date on the cam.

*The camera has since been taken to the police station, just incase anyone has reported it lost/stolen. I have seen the submission form. Oh, and even the police said the footage was 'odd'.

*I'm not saying make/model/type of cam, just incase locals go to police station and claim it.

*I do not believe in ghosts, and neither does my friend. However, I can't figure out why someone would discard a brilliant, near-new camera to just do a hoax? Even I find the footage a bit creepy.

*My friend contacted me, as he has no idea how to take footage from cameras, or how to upload etc.

*When I took the footage off and onto my computer, the sound vanished. I have no idea why. There wasn't anything said, anyway. Just the guy breathing pretty heavily. This tells me he was on his own.

*I have edited out quite a bit of irrelevent other stuff.

*The quality of the video has lessened a lot when I uploaded it to youtube. On my version, you can see a lot more, and see the figure better.

*At the end, the guy seems to walk down 'tramps alley', and then turn and hastily goes back the other way, thus running into the figure? This seems weird to me.

*Smokey is very dark. The doorway the figure is standing in is pitch black, so I have no idea how the figure is so easily seen. Also, it seems massive. The door-way is at least seven foot. In a way, it seems the figure is floating or hovering?

*Before the doorway is a huge hole, which the guy jumps into, before climbing up, and walking through the door-way.

*Before we see the figure, there seems to be some type of wisp? Or weird smokey type stuff?

We have since gone back here and taken hours of footage, and loads of pics, but nothing has appeared. The place is haunted apparentely, but I have never seen anything up there in all the years going up there, and neither has my friend.

@3MinuteWarning90 it just kind of a paradox ! they believe in ghosts and hunt for them well god is mean't to be a spirit yes ..its just funny that they hunt for somthing they don't believe in how bizarre we humans are !

a comedy of sorts ! a necromancer or consulter of spirits means to try to contact the dead ! ghost hunting ect ect

@3MinuteWarning90 thats the part of the bible that warns people of ghost hunting !! it depends of course weather you believe it or not !! but then i know things you don't you think your the only ones that have been in this place ? ..its kinda strange when you think about it many people go looking for ghosts spirits ect ect yet they flat out refuse to even for one second believe in a god of creator yet they still go looking for these things

As for the ghost....you couldn't miss him, big chap. This is deffo not a fake if the original posters story is true. And I believe it is true. Definate apparition. Superb.

This place is scary looking. Watching this vid, It felt like I was watching a music video. Both music and video compliment each other very well. I enjoyed it. The blurry images of the camera moving quickly then the really sharp image when he decides to focus on the window slits for example. Very arty vid.
