Perfect response when asked why people should listen to her! She is,(as she said),1st & formost an American citizen so why on earth shouldn't she have an opinion on what happens in her homeland?! Plus,she speaks with real passion & eloquence on relevent issues.The fact that she happens to be a world-class entertainer & can use her 'celebrity' & 'fame' to do good can be seen only as a bonus! I can see nothing wrong with her publically expressing her opinion.

@refillpad19 hahaa me too! im 17 and my friends think i have weirdo 'obsessions' lool ... music etc nowadays are soo ughh,i mean i still listen and enjoy music etc etc from 'now' but i need a good mix of old and new...and i hate how younger people now dont even know the awesome artists etc who started off before the 80's etc... etc... etc =P ....

Cont'd: and I am a fan , don't get me wrong---she's intelligent and kind , etc etc, but there is a pointless egotism to the whole persona combined with laziness I suppose----she makes a film like the Fockers...? She could be doing such beautiful things with her talent , but she talks about politics and decorating all the time.

She's a truly great artist , and I do like the fact that she has been a dignified person all these years which clearly isn't normal in the entertainment world. But aside from singing it's hard to take her that seriously---I don't think she's good at anything else really, except brilliantly funny in some of her roles. She's really a supremely gifted singer, the rest is a charismatic ego trip for her and her fans.
