  • Hi again,

Thank you for all your previous answers, I got a little bit further now and made it through the text mode install, but when I want to do the GUI mode (option 2) I get the hall.dll problem. The windows setup can't seem to find this file, while it actually exists.

Hope you can help me out with this as well.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Try booting with option 8 instead of 2 after the first reboot.

  • I'll try to explain it a little bit more detailed:

The hard disk isn't found when I press ENTER to install Windows and where you normally can select your partition (2:12 in your video).

And my Windows XP CD does not have a folder called OEMDRV.

  • Hey there,

So problem's obvious: since you don't have the folder OEMDRV, there are no drivers present for the AHCI mode which by default is enabled. You can either deactivate it in your BIOS (with no major loss in performance) or wait for another video for integrating the drivers into a selfmade installation CD which I partially have prepared yesterday.

The German version is sold with a Windows XP CD though which has already got the AHCI drivers integrated. I'll try to add the next video ASAP

  • Would you please be as kind as to explain it more precisely: how far did you actually get? Did you even get to the point when you have to partition the hard drive? Or do you have the problem of the hard drive not beeing recognized before? I need precise details about that - else I won't be able to help!

  • Hi, this might sound stupid, but when I press Enter after starting the windows setup, the computer doesn't seem to find the Hard Disk. How is this possible? Thanks in advance.
