I play tuba and I had to stand the second time around...it's not that difficult...

The tuba didn't stand up because it wasn't featured. The piccolo is 99% of the time up because it has it's solo. Then the second time through the trumpets/cornets are given the melody, and the trombones have the counter-melody. The tuba has no special part, just some cut quarter notes to keep the beat going. And, it is somewhat hard to stand up playing a tuba than versus a sousaphone.

I think why the tuba didn't stand up was because unless it was a sousaphone, it's kinda hard to stand with a tuba, but idk...maybe the director just didn't plan on it?
