I'm a terrible cart driver. I'm always knocking displays down in the craft store, and half the time the cart battery dies! But I don't care what other people think...do you know most people who need the carts don't look disabled, and are not elderly!

I love this video. I just wish people understood what it is like for us.

I must agree. Some days I HAVE to use the cart. But I do not go shopping by myself since, well, the last time I did I woke up in the ER rather confused! Never lived it down either (I work in the ER). I have a shirt I made that says "Beware Frequent Passer Outer" so when I do have it clean and have to go shopping I like to wear it. I hate the looks people give. Just like when you have to ride the elevator up a floor. We just can't help it!!!

I CANNOT BEGIN TO EXPLAIN HOW YOU COVERED WHAT I FEEL. I USE THE CART TOO...AND I GET THE LOOKS LIKE I AM CRAZY...OR THAT I AM JUST LAZY. I HAVE HAD COMMENTS MADE. I HAVE TRIED TO SHOP WALKING AND STANDING AND I PASS OUT ALMOST EVERYTIME I GET TO THE LINE OR JUST BEFORE GETTING TO THE LINE. NOW I DO NOT FEEL SO BAD FOR USING IT.

wow thank you for having such a great attitude. I also cannot go into stores because all hell breaks loose as soon as I even enter a building. My symptoms sound so similar to yours, with a few extra crazies. I had to use one of those carts in wal-mart and I felt so embarrased and felt like I was 90 and my 3 year old daughter was with us, and I just thought, why God... and now, seeing you have such a great attitude, and it is just a tool we need to get through a shopping trip... :) thank you!

I can totally relate to this! I have to use one of those most of the time unless it is really cold in a store.

Realy good video. Its given me the confidence to hire a wheelchair for an exhibition I am going to in a couple of weeks that I was going to have to cancel because its basically standing up all day :D

I use the carts all the time...they're a live saver! It is a strange feeling to look young and healthy and be joining the seniors while shopping. But it does make the impossible possible and that is what is most important.
That's great that you were able to get out and get some grocery shopping done. :) I haven't been to a grocery store for quite some time just because of how dizzy I usually am. I know if I do have a good day and am able to attempt it, I would definitely have to use a cart. There's no way I'd be able to be walking around, trying finding what I need for a long amount of time. I'm sure it will feel strage at first..but if that's what I need to get things done, then it's what I'll have to do.

Hey Kyli
I use a cart if I go out on my own. I hate how people stare, like they think i'm eiher lazyor doing it for fun. I also feel weird about peoples reactions when I suddenly get up. Otherwise I get a wheelchair and make someone push me! It really does make impossible Pots tasks, possible again! We just need a sign strapped to us to say we pass out when standing!
Xx

@zillylilly20 Sometimes I do wish I had a sign! I'm finding that it's kind of funny though.. to be a perfectly healthy-looking person in a cart zooming around in the store. Theres something really comical about it. Sometimes its fun to be different..and who cares what they think. :)

I'm proud of you Kyli! My only problem is, is that I'm a terrible driver. I've never driven a car. When my mom has to take her hands off the steering wheel for a few seconds to rub her eyes or something and she tells me to steer for her...well, lets just say it makes her get back to the wheel very quickly and she doesn't get done getting that eye lash out of her eye! I'm terrible! I crashed a golf cart even LOL. I can just see me knocking down a display case of cans LMAO!!

@TheDysautonomiaGirl LMAO. I knocked down a whole display the first time I used one! I was so embarrassed! But it was the cart's fault - seriously...something was wrong with that thing. hahaha.
