Some people become enlightened without drugs.
Some people become enlightened with drugs.
Some people use them but never become enlightened.
Some people don't used them and never become enlightened.

The list can go on, there are an incomprehensible number of variables here. I wouldn't say that people need drugs to get in touch with their inner self, it's just another way.

not artificial, and me its not until after the effects have worn off, that i can feel enlightened. and its not a synthetic feeling, like extacy or other pharmaceuticals. any profound experiences occur after i have stopped tripping, its like being reborn and so beautiful, you can pick apart your life down to the minute details, things you never thought were there. until you try it i would bite your tounge,that right there is the reason its illegal, pure ignorance.

enlightenment is a state of being. You don't need drugs to become enlightened. Enlightened people don't go around looking for hash and lsd to become "enlightened." did Buddha need hash? did Jesus need it? I am not for or against their use if people want to thats fine. but I have seen enough people to know its more a tool to escape personal circumstance than to become "enlightened" you don't need a drug to show you life is beautiful and that unconditional love should be the only spiritual law.
