Unknown to Ron Bellamy, in the previous rehearsal, David Harris of the Raleigh Ringers had arranged with the nearly 200 bell ringers to let Mr. Harris take over the rehearsal, while standing behind Ron, out of his sight.... What made it even funnier was that David had told the young people that he would high jack the rehearsal at the first place that Mr. Bellamy stopped to make corrections... as it turned out, the young people played rather excellently, and we had to wait til the end of the song for the high-jacking to take place. Never have we waited and hoped for so long for a mistake to take place.
Ron's VERY brilliant response to the high-jacking was, "Don't succumb to his childish behavior.". The spirit of the encounter added a lot of fun to an already outstanding festival.
