I agree, though I don't believe that being concerned with what you look like is the problem. But if fashion and "being in a band" is the only thing that counts, then it's no surprise that today's music is in the best case mediocre and in most cases boring

The "deathcore" as well as the whole indie-electronic-80s synth pop rip off-bands are examples of this.

I've always found it awesome how some of the best and most nihilistic sounding hardcore music is made by dudes who don't dress the part. In recent years, this entire scene has been over saturated by bands concerned with appearances and the music they make doesn't have anywhere near as much passion as this late 90's crop of bands did.

All that aside, Systral is amazing. I picked up a copy of Black Smoker the other day and have been listening to it ever since. Nothing short of devastating.
