@Dannys998877 I hate contemporary country music, but I love this "old time" country...

Roy Acuff was a 2nd cousin to my grandpa Roy Acuff... This is REAL country music. I hate that whiny shit that passes for country now...

It's a total and complete shame as to what Nashville and country music has become now!! When Roy Acuff it started to slip and it's terrible now. I wouldn't go the Grand Ole Opry now at all........Mr. Acuff was a true class act and kept the Grand Ole Opry with standards and tradition!! Just look at it now....

I saw Roy Acuff at the Grand Ole Opry and recieved his Autograph in 1977 and then in 2005 I met Porter Wagoner on the Grand Ole Opry. Charlie Collins was playing for the Opry Square Dancers. I'll never forget being on the Grand Ole Opry 23 April 2005. Best Wishes LittleCountryDJ

I think this is Porter wagoner show, in Opryland, around 1978 ?

does anybody know what year this video is from?

we lost one of the best when roy died
@BuddyNHiram I'm sure that Roy would simply hate what passes for "country music" today. All the great originals are gone now. And the current generation of "stars" neither know nor care what country music was. I wouldn't walk across the street to see a modern Opry show.

Mr Acuff, where are you when Nashville needs you most?
Just curious as to what Mr Acuff would say if he could see the "music" coming out of Nashville now. ?? I kinda dont think he's like it too much, but this is only a guess.
