My thoughts: Microsoft Surface RT & Windows 8

Went to my local pop-up Microsoft Store earlier today to check out the Surface RT, and a Best Buy to check out some touch-screen Windows 8 computers.

I'm currently running Windows 8 on my Lenovo laptop that I purchased last month, and I'm loving it so far (as far as Windows 8 goes, and not using a touch-screen device).  Only thing I find lacking on Windows 8 are the app (of course), but in due time they'll have more apps coming through.

@thetecherra Dude, my standards aren't low yours are over the top high, this is a fairly new OS and it's bound to be glitchy, snd again since when was 3-5 sec app load times so slow? ( is you want to see something extremely painfully fuckin slow compare the surface boot Tim to the iPads boot time, and the come back and rethink toe review)

Wow... Your standards are WAY too low. Just because it's the first iteration of a product is no excuse for any out-of-the-box problems or occurrences. Anything that's more than 1 second is slow, especially by today's hardware standards. Doing a cold boot is the worst benchmark one could imagine.

Five seconds is WAY too long for it to load extremely basic applications. Competing devices have been able to load similar applications instantly or with very little delay.

I'd say 75% Metro, 25% O.G. Desktop. I think the way they have the "Desktop" option as an "app" on the Metro interface is pretty clever.
