ZHANG:
Also in Taiwan: an exhibition of paintings by artists from the spiritual group Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa. In mainland China, the Communist Party is engaged in an ongoing persecution of Falun Gong, sending adherents to be tortured in labor camps. The paintings at this exhibition aim to raise awareness through telling their stories.
STORY:
[Jin-hua Zhang, Taiwan Falun Dafa Association]:
When I look at those paintings I feel very touched, Im almost crying, but I tell myself, 'dont cry,' what you should do is not just crying, you should let people know that this persecution is happening now in mainland China.
A sense of empathy for those not fortunate enough to be on this side of the Taiwan Strait.
[Jin-hua Zhang, Taiwan Falun Dafa Association]:
Taiwan is a free society, and those Falun Gong practitioners in Taiwan, probably more than 600-thousand people practicing Falun Gong and they enjoy freedom, democracy and legal protection in Taiwan.
The Taiwan Falun Dafa association displays the works of Falun Dafa practitioners with a clear purpose.
[Jin-hua Zhang, Taiwan Falun Dafa Association]:
The main purpose of this art exhibition as of course to show what happened in mainland China and how serious the persecution is and how Falun Gong members try their best to tell the truth to the world. Like for this painting in the poster we see a little girl who is in the rain and tries her best to tell the truth that those cultivators in mainland China are killed just because of their belief, their belief in truthfulness, compassion and tolerance and then the persecution in mainland China is so serious, it is illegal, it is inhumane.
Taiwan, still officially known as the Republic of China, when it comes to human rights is a stark contrast to its communist big brother. We talked to Jia-wen Yao, former president of the Taiwan Examination Beaureu, about the situation.
[Jia-wen Yao, Taiwan Examination Bureau]:
The situation in China, there are many issues. People who are innocent, peoples rights, peoples freedom they are suppressed. The Chinese Communist Party fears people gathering together and peoples activities, those kinds of things are suppressed.
A sense of beauty and perseverance amidst great hard ship. Whether this exhibition can achieve its goal, only time will tell.

laduch, Why Practice if you can be torched? Wail for one 50% of Chinese People have been persecuted over the last 100 years of (CCP) rule. It said your account was closed?? Anyways Falun Dafa removed not only the Crippling scoliosis in my neck, but also helped me threw a suicidal dilemma. I've been over it for the last 6 years since studying Falun Dafa, Law-Wheel Great-Law. I might not always be able to hold myself to The Dafa or Great Law, & that brings me much Heart ach. Kindness is important

TruthfOrme, thats ridicules! I can't believe they'd do that. Their was a (CCP) site by their embassy which lied about a family of Falun Gong Practitioners committing suicide by fire. I was upset by their lies & tried to write them, but they removed their e-mail account. I think when people approach them with the Truth, or Falun Dafa Quotes; it disheartens them since their lies are becoming transparent, & tobe a Falun Dafa Practitioner one must try his best to live be The Fa.

I've seen life sized replicas of these paintings, & they really moved me to tears. I'm a Western Falun Gong Practitioner & I can tell you that Falun Dafa helped me resolved my suicidal dilemma & heal up my body quit a bite from Scoliosis when I was nearly paralyzed walking only about 1 hr. a day, many years ago. I'd like more people to see this video, if it will help the Chinese & Asian Practitioners gain freedom of belief & freedom to Practice Zhen-Shan-Ren or Truth-Compassion-Tolerance
