Here is Part Two of the rare 1957 'Telephone Time' and Hal Roach Studios production of 'Molly Brown'. Made and released long before the Debbie Reynolds film version of 'The Unsinkable Molly Brown', this docu-drama details the maiden voyage of the Titanic, as described by Molly Brown.

The feature also uses some action sequences taken from other Titanic productions such as the 1943 German propaganda film 'Titanic' and the 1953 Clifton Webb release 'Titanic'.

  • I see that the Media was already distorting Molly Brown's image to suit the "back into the kitchen" policies of the Church. In reality, though she had grown up poor, Molly Brown was not from a low class or ignorant family. Nor was she really a social climber. Her real story, as an important member of the Women's Suffrage Movement, ran counter to the policies of the Government and Church, following WWII, to get women back into their role as meek nonpersons. So, Hollywood invented a new Molly.

  • The other actress featured was the woman on Star Trek Amok Time as Tapaou!

  • I can just remember seeing a clip of this ,in rerun, when I was a kid.Id not realized that Cloris had played Mrs Brown-in 2 Titanic tellings ! I wonder if the scene between Mr and Mrs Strauss in their state room inspired James Cameron for his film.

  • @meredithchandler73 yep its a then 31 year old Cloris....

  • Interesting bit of trivia for you. The actress playing Mrs. Strauss would go onto play T'Pau in Star Trek, The Original Series.

  • I love the scene where the Strasses give off a Jewish blessing. Very different than what the other Titanic films show.

  • You're very welcome. Glad the videos give some enjoyment to others.
