Sims 2 Glitch: really scary swingset

I'm kind of baffled as to what happened. I was playing the Dreamer lot, and Darren remarried to Cassandra Goth. One night, about a sim week into playing, the ghost of Darren's old wife appeared (I forgot her name) then when it was time for her to go (the sun was coming up) She flew into her tombstone, and it disappeared. Completely gone! So, the next morning, Cassandra goes to swing, so I told Darren to push her. When he passed one side of the slide, he jumped. Every time I made them pass it, they either stopped before reaching where I told them to walk, or jumped. Then, I brought them towards the weeping willow tree where her headstone was, and the just jumped and shrieked over and over. In the queue list (when you tell them to do an action, a little icon appears at the top of the screen) it was blank, and when I hovered over it, it said "be surprised". Well, it wasn't blank the whole time... when the school bus came to pick up dirk, the icon had the bus in it. So... I'm clueless... Is this just a glitch, or has his old wife made the swing set her new residence?

if you build a fence around the "cursed spot" they will stop "being surprized" i had some soort problem and after i build the fence they stopped being surprized al the time
