How awful! I met Prof. Lupu in Bucharest in 2005 in connection with some research I was conducting on Enescu. He was a perfect gentleman and gave me a great deal of help.
His recording of the Enescu "Caprice Roumaine" is a monument not only of violin playing but also of scholarship, since he was intimately involved in reconstructing the violin part from nearly unusable manuscripts. His recording of the Enescu violin sonatas with V. Gheorghiu is also truly great.
May he soon recover!

What a language is that? It isn´t Russian (because of the Latin letters...)
Is it Romanian??!
I´m interesting in that! :-)

HOLY CRAP! PROF> LUPU IS MY VIOLIN TEACHER"S TEACHER! HOLY CRAP! she told me about this. i can't belive it....wow. sad though. but it would have been worse if the violin was destroyed.
This violinist gets my approval for saving his violin before his life.

Unfortunately for Professor Lupu, he has not played since the accident.
