Daniel Greenwolf performs for the very first time ever on stage his new stunt, Gasp. In this stunt, this daring fool allows himself to be tied up with 100 feet of rope and then has a bag lined with a plastic garbage bag firmly tied over his head. He has but a scant few minutes to free himself from the ropes and remove the bag from his head before he will pass out and risk possible brain damage or even certain death.
In part one we see two volunteers from the audience tying him up and assuring there are no trick knots being used. In part two we see his lovely assistant and partner place the bag on his head and he begins his daring escape. Will he make it?

Video recorded by me at the Midsummer Magick Faire in Oxford, CT 7/18/09
First: You have a pigtail. That will break the neck seal if not carefully stuffed inside.
Second: You wear a black cloth bag over it. This will nicely hide any hole in the white plastic bag.
Aye, you can stay over two minutes even in such a small bag, but that will get difficult with the effort of undoing the ropes.
Note any magick trick is to create an illusion of danger to the audience, but not really being endangered at all at the performers' side.

@domb09 I've also got green crap on my face. And I'm not chubby... I'm fat. And don't you forget it.
Seriously, however, I respect your thought. There's a lot of people out there who don't feel escapes are magic and that's perfectly understandable. Most of my show is not escapes and that's why I consider myself a magician. The other stuff I do goes along with the more traditional concept of Magic and I hope you take a look and enjoy those performances more.
Much love,
Daniel GreenWolf

how can you consider yourself a magician. this isn't "magic". no illusions, no slight of hand, nothing. the only thing we have here is a chubby sweaty guy trying to get himself untied while a bunch of people are watching. that's creepy, not entertaining.

Actually, I ended up taking a breath inside the bag and it panicked me because it stuck right to my face. The little things you learn in performance.
