  • While so many other black models were already established in the business, LEGENDARY SUPERMODEL TYRA BANKS snatched the coveted titles, and became the first ever model of color to appear for GQ Magazine, Victoria Secret and the one that made world history the Coveted Cover for the 1997 Winter Swimsuite Edition: she became the first ever black model to appear on the cover, and the magazine included many other models in the pages (i.e. Karen Mulder, Naomi Campbell

  • There is hardly any black person in the West (US, the Caribbean, Latin America) who is 100% black, i.e. 100% African, unless they or their parents recently immigrated from Africa. I don't know why this isn't common knowledge.

  • MOST BEAUTIFUL FACE, MOST AMAZING WALK! NAOMI #1

  • @0797000 I agree with you that there is lots of corruption in the world/ in the fashion industry and some do use race as a factor, but it's not really possible for Naomi to have got where she was just because of her race. To be a model you have to be beautiful, others no one would make money out of you.

  • @0797000 so, according to you, this 16 year old girl went to all the top designers, editors and agents in the 80s pulled out a 'race card' and happened to be in almost every catwalk show/ on lots of covers/ get lots of campaigns. And this had absolutely nothing to do with her looks? If you're saying this youre saying any black girl, no matter her looks, could pull out this card and make it? I think professionals in fashion have more sense than that...Guess well have to agree to disagree

  • @albanst456 she only got where she was cos she used the typical race card just like all the rest of them do, but for other reasons....look mate, you know whats going on in the world, you know how it all works and they all know the system very well and get away with everything!! thats what the world has become as sad as it is....

  • @0797000 no, actually she was a middle class, well educated girl growing up. Also, this is just your opinion, clearly it's the minority opinion, seen as she has been in demand for 25 years, made millions and had orginally been, and continues to be chosen by those who are experts in modelling and beauty....not exactly 'right place right time'!

  • @dropitlow62 er yes but Naomi was the first black model to appear on British Vogue, the first black model to appear ever on the September issue of American Vogue (the most coveted issue) and the first black model to EVER appear on French Vogue (as well as others) way before Tyra was even around, and Vogue is the most prestigious fashion magazine. Naomi is one of the true supermodels. When Tyra was first around, noone even knew her.

  • 0:28 amazing dress of tommy hilfiger
