This bathroom was once a bedroom. The original bathroom (1900 vintage row home) was very small and very unusable. This is a huge upgrade with modern convenience.
@jademm I very much understand - it can be overwhelming. Because of the construction of the house, I knew we would be able to take out all the walls and build back exactly as we wanted. I thought about it for literally the first 4 years i was in the house. Drew lots of layouts. The whole thing fell into place once I got the bathroom design nailed down. I also did all of the work myself and took a my time to do it right (like 2 years). Wish I could give you ideas on where to start.
My home is 20 years old and in dire need of a complete renovation, esp. the kitchen and bathrooms. The transformative possibilties are both exciting and overwhelming. I don't know exactly where to start. I'm looking through magazines and YouTube videos to get some ideas but where to go from there? Architect? Interior Designer? Contractor? I have mental pictures of the end result (clean, streamlined, modern look; better lighting/ventilation, etc.) but I need help to make a cohesive design.
@jademm Thanks. The general layout of the room was suggested by an architect friend. Most of the design/decoration ideas were mine. When I re-built the room, I improvised the niches, pocket doors, in-wall storage and tray ceiling (not shown) myself. We picked out the appliances (sink/tub/toilet/etc) and tile with the help of salespersons. We did hire a consultant for paint choices, but they helped with the entire house (this was part of a full-house renovation).

Very nice renovation. Did you plan out the decoration steps yourself or did you enlist the help of an interior designer?
