The DTS has been discontinued, so all Cadillac sedans are RWD. All Buick sedans are FWD. So no Buick shares platform with Cadillacs.
Cadillac is a true-luxury division, while Buick is considered entry-level luxury. My understanding is that buyers' demographics is also different among the two brands.
@LexusLawyer Yes it does, Cadillac just became more Sports orientated in 2002 when they introduced the CTS and replaced the Catera. Buick and Cadillac are both GM's Luxury divisions and just because Cadillac is priced more does not distinguish it from Buick. And the DTS is their only remaining FWD car and the SRX is FWD with the option of AWD. GM is famous for Badge Engineering which makes no sense if your going to have two luxury divisions.
No. Buick does not compete with Cadillacs. Buick is comfort-oriented while Cadillac is performance-oriented. All Buicks are front-wheel-drive, unlike Cadillac, whose vehicles are mainly rear-wheel-drive. Buicks are also priced lower than Cadillacs and are more conservatively-styled.
Bring back the 3800 engines!

Why do they need Buick if they have Caddilac? Thats one of the reasons why GM went into bankrupcy, It competed with ITS SELF!
