With Chicago gun violence raging out of control, Chicago Ideas Week asked: "What if we used our advertising platform to help solve it?" The #WhatIfChicago Twitter campaign was born to crowd-source ideas to help get illegal guns off the streets of Chicago. The city was given an innovative new platform to tackle its biggest problem. And a small regional ideas conference stepped into the international spotlight. All with a hashtag. A Twitter account. And an idea.
