  • very nice video, where do you work, i work for a glass company in Hyannis, MA...you should make a video on how to cut a circle out of 1/4" plate

  • Thanks, I'm in Quincy ILL. - North of St.Louis.

Ya, I will I've got a lot more to make in the next month or so.,

  • good video , but 6mm 1/4 inch is easy.

i am having trouble when i go to 10mm.

    is there a different technique?

  • No its pretty much the same, but it is tougher. They make cuts specificaly for the thicker glass. The wheel is different. it gives you a better cut then the standand cutter.

  • What would be the best sealant to use in order to make a reptile tank??

  • Very informative-Nice presentation!

  • Can i cut a piece of 3/8" x 48" using a normal glass cutter (ball on end) and starting the run method or do I need a different cutter for thicker glass? Thanks in advance

  • hey i have a question im trying to cut glass from a frame. how would i succeed in that without taking off the frame? My parents have three artbox frames with a glass top cemented in the wall. I broke the first panel of glass on the art box. so i thought id cut the glass off all the frames so the artbox wont look so ugly. bought a glass cutter at home depot and it doesnt work.

  • it was very helpfull for mr...!! thank U

  • I just wanted to comment on the part where you tap the glass with your glasscutter, it is important that you tap from the opposite side from where you put the cut otherwise it wont work. And one guidline is you can cut away as much glass as the glass is thick... If you have a bigger piece of glass for a storefront window or something you cut the glass and then break it over the edge of the table.

  • myglasstrades, Greetings fellow glass tradesman, It's always fun to watch glass cutting. you explain it well and keep it simple for people interested in learning this skill. This would prove to be beneficial to future glass artists as well.

looking forward to future videos. @onecutter Waterford, Mich.

  • awesome, i have been looking for a video showing plate glass being cut into thinner longer strips, nice to see it being done. I have 20 3'x3' sheets of 1/4" plate glass i need to cut down into 3' by 3" strips. Watching you do the 1" strip made me a little more confident. Always have done just typical larger pieces that are a min 4" in size. thanks!
