Welsh report on gimmicks that Plaza Cinema Port Talbot used to do in the late 1980s to get the children to come to the cinema on a Saturday morning. Throw custard pies at them!

  • It was March 1988. We were in the middle of opening the second and third screens which was why the front is closed off with no access to the stage.

We'd also just changed from Saturday Club to Saturday Cinema. It looks like we're showing part one of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (come back next week to see part two!) and part two of Labyrinth (part one was last week).

We had to do this because we'd showed the Children's Film Foundation stuff about five times over and was trying keep it fresh!
