Joe made me breakfast, and I watched how he touched everything with care. He's such a gentle, loving person. "Here. Eat." He put my plate in front of me, towered with eggs, toast, hash browns, bacon and a pancake. It looked awesome. I ate slowly, knowing I couldn't finish it all. Joe sat across from me at the table, and immediately dug in. "So I was thinking..." He started, and took a gulp of orange juice. "That we go to the park today."
"Really?"
"Yeah. We haven't been there since we were kids, so I thought it would be fun." Joe smiled at me, and touched my foot with his. I nodded in agreement with him, and for the rest of breakfast, we ate in silence.

I took my shower alone, and pulled on some of Joe's smaller clothes. I went downstairs where he was waiting, and wrapped my arms around him, leaning into his snuggable body.
"Ready gorgeous?"
"Ready."
We drove to the park, and the smell of French fries and cotton candy was strong in the air. You could hear the faint screams from the roller coasters, and the music from the merry-go-round. Joe took my hand as we walked to the entrance, and bought us our bracelets. We got through the doors, and the rush of people was something else. It was never this busy when we were kids. "Wow." I commented, not knowing where to look first.
"How about a rollercoaster?" he asked, and I nodded, knowing this day could be amazing. Only cause I was with Joe.

We went on seven rides total, and by then we were both hungry. Joe dragged me to his favorite canteen, and I smiled at his excitement. He was still a kid at heart. I sat at one of the picnic tables, and he came over to join me once he put our order in. "Hey sexy." He cooed at me, and I laughed, blushing my brains out.
"You're sexy." I smiled, and he pushed his soft, tender lips against mine. I didn't protest, and I kissed him back with all my love. When we pulled away, we both noticed people staring at us. I didn't pay much attention to it though; I was completely comfortable with my sexuality, as was Joe.
"They think you're sexy too." Joe whispered in my ear, making me laugh. I loved that he could make humor out of anything.
"I highly doubt that."

That night, a lot of people had gone. The park closed at midnight, and we planned on staying until closing. Joe looked at me, and wrapped his arm around my waist. "Look." He pointed, and I heard big bangs in the night sky. I looked up, seeing the beginning of a very loud and beautiful firework show. Joe moved to stand behind me, and rested his chin on my head, and his hands on my stomach. We watched the colors in silence and after, Joe kissed me sweetly. "How about we go on the Ferris Wheel now?"
"Sure." I smiled softly, and since there was no line, we were the only ones going on. The ride operator lowered the bar, and I held onto it tight, somewhat afraid of heights. Joe knew this, and held onto me tight. I laid my head against his shoulder, and shut my eyes.
"I love you." Joe whispered against my curls, and I smiled, finally able to say it back.
"I love you too." I looked up at him, pressing my lips against his.
We went around the wheel a couple of times, and got off. The ride operator slipped something in my hand, and clamped it tight. "Congratulations." She said, and I looked at her funny. I opened my hand, where there was a men's diamond engagement ring. I looked at Joe in surprise, and total awe.
"Will you marry me?" Joe asked, getting down on one knee. He pulled a rose from behind his back, holding it up to me as he took my free hand.
"Of course." I whispered, tears coming to my eyes. I jumped into his arms, so incredibly happy. I've always dreamed of this moment, and now it's finally coming true, with my one true love.
