  • First of the band's singles to be far less commercial sounding

  • I'd say it's the second (See You being first) with a music video to sound a bit less commercial sounding. =)

  • @biospark64 Dont agree there bio as i felt that See You was quite catchy, melodic and lively

  • @kenfig Eh, I think I see what you mean. I just didn't get as much of a pop impression as much as some others had, particularly in the outro. Seems almost a bit mellow (The only really poppy songs to me on ABF were "Meaning of Love & A Photograph of You).

  • It sounds like some Coldwave ^^

  • Coldwave? I recall reading about it once, but I can't really see what it is.

So, this would be an example of it? Sounds like a nice genre to me... =D

  • zakończenie absolutnie genialne

  • @nicemalzkaffee you sound like a stalker.

  • this album is a sleepy, underrated gem.

  • Broken Frame was a one of the best early DM album i think. I remember, when i was a teenager, i didn't like the Depeche Mode, because i was a punk and i listened punk and new wave musics. But later one of my friend who liked the DM, showed me Broken Frame album.... It was fantastic.... So, since i am a DM fan but i think ,their earlier period was better than their late period. What is my favorite DM early album? It's difficult question.... I very like "Broken Frame" and "Some Great Reward".

  • @biospark64 Although i remember Meaning O L on Top Of The Pops and in the charts at the time, when i bought the first vinyl version of D.Mode the Hits 1980 0r 81 To 1985, 'Meaning' was left off it for some reason which couldnt have been it's chart position ; didnt like M O L either as although i though it was 'poppy' it didnt have the pop sensibility that Clarke had provided to their hits.Mind you Everything counts was a good pop record but M O L wasnt so good in terms of song or vocals
